Beware, this product only fits skinny old-school handlebars, it will not fit on oversized carbon bars.
A good piece for sure. I went over the bars while in South Dakota but the GPS stayed attached just like it should. This little piece of plastic works great. It really should come with the unit when purchased though, and the topo maps should also.
Which I should have been doing anyway. I did need to purchase a replacement for my original though since my bike tipped over and broke the attachment. This just taught me to take of the GPS before trying to load my bike on the rack. If you have the Garmin GPS 60 and a bike, you should get one of these things. A very nice add on to a very nice GPS unit. The mount stays steady on the handlebars once it is mounted and the attachment that links to the mount is easy to use. You already know all the benefits of the Garmin and this mount makes the ride even that more enjoyable. Even with my fat fingers it comes off.
seems to hold securely as I have used it without problems on a snowmobile, which is a torture test for sure
Causing me almost to crash :(The GPS survived (though with really deep scratches) and the mount was damaged again. Because of the lack of alternatives I purchased the mount again, this time I stabilized it with rubber and tape. Went off to the moutains, it went well for a few days and about 400KM but the on a downhill, a bump, and off my GPS went. I am road biker, never go off road. Garmin should give a dime or two about their customer in the after-sales market, it may not be the profit margins they are used to, but a happy customer may be worth it in the long run. It went well for a few rides and then suddenly after a hard, but still normal, bump, the upper bracket just broke off, causing my GPS to slide violently over the tarmac. I purchased the mount and was happy at first since it was easy to attach and adjust. The plastic seems to be very cheap stuff, not at all rugged.
